Commercial Description:
Pasteurised and filtered. Bottled.
"Brewed almost as pale as lager and so smooth you will hardly notice it slipping down between the goals. A very pale ale brewed with our finest hand made malt combined with Fuggle and Golding hops and just a touch of fine aroma hop to add a citrusy, bitter tang to whet your whistle!"
Ingredients: Maris Otter malt; Goldings and Fuggles hops.

(Bottle 50 cl) Amber coloured, slightly hazy, not much head. Very, very aromatic hoppy nose, extremely fruity and fresh. And the excellent hops leave their mark all the way through to the finish in this beer making this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Nice hoppiness, light body. A football beer and a nice one to have while watching Chelsea-Liverpool in the CL. 270405

Marstons has set its sights on English sports fans with this "beer for football fans" and the release of Sweet Chariot, aimed at English rugby fans. (The English rugby anthem is ’Swing Low Sweet Chariot’ for reasons that no one can explain, other than it’s better than any homegrown songs). To emphasise the target market, Fever Pitch comes with an England flag and a football (soccer ball) on the label. Can’t see it selling too well outside England...! It pours a cloudy golden colour with a rocky 1.5cm white head that hangs around and laces well. Inviting fruity nose - pears and sweet malt. Medium bodied with some cookie-like malt and a little citrus before a big Fuggles and Golding hop finish. By no means the brewer’s best work but it’s a decent drop and far more successful than the England football team. (Bottle, Best Before 31/1/05)

A slightly hazy light orange beer with a nice creamy off-white head. The aroma is very hoppy, lemony and flowery - slightly perfumated. The flavor is malty with notes of elderflowers and hops with a slightly bitter end. But the body is thin.

Bottle. Golden with small head. Fresh, lightly hoppy, soft medium-full mouthfeel, not as bad as expected.

Bottled, at the Head of Steam, Euston, London.
Golden with a medium bright white head. Malty, bready aroma. Simple and unchallenging but you can’t deny that it is clean and honestly presented.
