"Brewed almost as pale as lager and so smooth you will hardly notice it slipping down between the goals. A very pale ale brewed with our finest hand made malt combined with Fuggle and Golding hops and just a touch of fine aroma hop to add a citrusy, bitter tang to whet your whistle!"
Ingredients: Maris Otter malt; Goldings and Fuggles hops.

500ml clear glass bottle. 4.2% ABV. Poured a clear pale amber with light carbonation & frothy white head. Nice herbal citrus nose.A well balanced pale ale with expected hop bitterness a downbeat version of their Old Empire IPA. Rounded mouthfeel with long biotter finish. Pale ale is my favourite style and this is a nice example

A mid copper coloured beer with a frothy white head. A light hoppy aroma, a tad metallic, with a background maltiness. Dry mouthfeel. A tart hop taste, some fruit, the metallic element comes through again. This is tempered by a mild, slightly sweeter malt flavour that balances the flavour through to the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: Clear amber with finger thick beige head. Aroma: Citrus, biscuit, umami. Taste: Low/medium sweet and sourness with medium bitterness. Palate: Medium thick smooth texture, light body, average carbonation, lingering quite dry, peppery, malty citrus finish. Comments: Good and lace.

500ml bottle. Pale gold with a soapy-looking white head. Vague hints of malt and straw on the nose. A bit like a lager in this department. Tastes of virtually nothing, although not exactly unpleasant. Fails to sparkle on the big stage.

This beer was brewed to celebrate the 2010 World Cup (football, or Soccer to some) and the English teams participation. The beer will hopefully stay longer in the momory than the England teams perfomances will! Clear 500ml bottle, best before 31 May 2011, drank 2nd July 2010. I suspect it is the same beer that was brewed for the 2006 World Cup also, as it looks and tastes just like the review for that beer (that Iíve just read). The colour was light amber, the head a good white showing at first, it then fell away, but left some good lacing on the íOld Speckled Hení vase shaped pint glass it was reviewed in. The aroma was hops all the way, as was the taste, bitter hoppiness, but not overly so, good dry aftertaste, with some malty sweetness trying to get through the hop flavours towards the end of the mouthfeel. A bit thin in the bodyfeel, but overall, not too bad.

Bottled. An orange coloured beer which pours with no head. Lots of boiled sweets in the nose and bitter Goldings in the mouth. A bit chewy. The hops arenít bad but the pasteurisation is evil.

500ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a small head. Aroma is fruity malt, some skunk and metallic as well. Slightly spicy start. Nice strong fruity bitter finish but the skunk and metal are there throughout.

DruncanVeasey (7112) - NUNEATON, Top 13, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 19, 2010
Flat lager looks: brilliant and slim-lidded. Horribly metallic aroma on the pour with some OK orange cream and greasy hopcone notes trying to break out. Soapy and vaguely orange-accented; bread stick and peanut husk malts, hop finish turned nasty and astringent by pasteurisation. Pale lager with a shampoo top. Poor. But at least they put some hops in it.

Strong hoppy aroma, not much to look at, sharp crisp taste. Expected a lot more from something brewed especially for the world cup

Beautiful golden color, nice head and lace. The aroma is floral and hoppy. The flavour is light like a lager, and it has hints of citrus and a nice bitterness. Itís uncomplicated and charming.
