Bottled labeled as ’Staffordshire IPA’ sold by/’brewed for’ Marks and Spencer. Brought home to belgrade. Oaky-copper appearance, heavy carbonation. Some fresh-ish hops off the nose and a reasonably balanced pale hop body. Definitely something that would be better out of a cask in the real situation than brought home by jet-plane.

Bottled as Marks & Spencer Staffordshire IPA. Pours clear amber/gold with a big white head. Aroma of citrussy hops. Taste is on the malty side, with a very weak citrus hop addition in the back seat.Light bitter end,

As M&S ’Staffordshire IPA’. Orange amber under a low white slick. Some unpleasant metallic and unwashed doggy notes on the nose- so much so I tipped it into another glass, settling down into a slightly more beery combo of almond, glue and rotting fruit. Syrupy and pronouncedly alcoholic with a slimy card and rotting fruit character. Late bite of breadstick; some almond and spun sugar. Zero hop or citrus flavour. Has the feel of cheap, ’special strength’ lager about it. Just about finishable, but not for me.
