From Marks and Spencer's. Nice Burton style IPA. Fruity citric nose, firmly bitter with sulfates evident. Nicely done but burtonising seems to replace flavour with bitterness somewhat. And a touch thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of hops with a hint of cabbage and hazelnut. Okay white appearance with a golden body. Flavour has average nutty notes with sharp hops. Medium on the mouth, aaand a perfectly okay IPA.

Bottle (Staffordshire IPA), gift from Tom. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of grain, underripe pear and earth. Flavour of sour grain, tin foil and grass. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Sharp and astringent. Not great.

First ever rating and what a beer to start with.... Appearance is none existing as well as the aroma it is just not surprising or challenging in any way. Not a beer I would recommend, but happy to be here on Ratebeer!

Very generic with an aroma of malt and caramel. Not something I would recommend.

Marks&Spencer’s version : Staffordshire IPA. Light amber body headed by a white foam that fades quickly. Aroma of hop, grass, sweet orange; floral. Quite fruity, sweet, round; buiscuity, malty; not dry, not very bitter but body is rather medium than light; finish is a bit metallic. Probably a bit far from what is expected from the style. Anyway I enjoyed it.

A clear dark orange body with a minimal white head. Nose has some earthy and musty hop aromas, as well as some sweet cookies and caramel. Taste is quite sweet and malty with a moderately bitter bite on the finish. Medium somewhat creamy carbonation and full palate. A little boring but a solid english IPA.

As M&S Staffordshire IPA, dry-bitter, light fruit notes, some hoppy spiciness, an excellent EIPA.
