COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Seasonal;
1 November 2012 to 30 November 2012 Available NOW! Tasting Notes: New Zealand Hop! An exciting new variety of hop from New Zealand which seem destined to catch on in a big way! With their tingly pine and exotic fruit notes,the outcome is immensly refreshing and rewarding. Grown in the northern region of South Island, Kohatu means ’stone’.

Cask@farmerjohns, streetly. Golden colour medium head with decent lacing. Aroma is of citrus fruits. Taste is of citrus fruits and pineapple. Also hints of floral notes. A nice beer.

Cask conditioned handpump Coach & Horses Wellingborough 27/11/12. A golden beer with a white head. Nice delicate NZ hopping. Some sweet notes merge with floral zesty and citrus flavours. Decent malt although there is a bit of sulphorous fart. Would prefer a fresher edge to allow the hop to shine but it is Marstons plc.

Cask. Pours a medium gold, with a white head. Dry, light to medium bodied, medium bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, slightly hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, grass, faintly earthy. Well made, but quite boring. (2012-11-23)

Cask handpull, The Wellie, Brum, 10/11/12. Loose bubbled brass-orange. Decent pine and evergreen on nose; mouth cornflake and soft oak behind orange and blackcurrant jelly; conifer, robust bitterness. If anything it needs a notch more perfume or fruit to ease the bitterness. Fair play: pretty solid.

Cask conditioned at Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford. Gold with white head. Light and reasonably hoppy type beer, some fruity notes, tropical indeed, hints of pineapple and mango with a background pine nut hint. Quite decent.
