COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Pasteurised.
Old Empire is brewed using Optic malt, a subtle and paler grain that will allow other flavours to come through on the palate. Goldings and Fuggles hops are added to this brew, which is then late hopped with the American Cascade variety for extra hop strength.

This Burton IPA has a golden, light amber colour. The head is off-white but disappeared quickly to leave a ring around the glass. The aroma is fruity, and the taste has a fruity maltiness, dominated by apples. There is a refreshing bitterness from the hops. Very clean tasting with a nice, dry finish. An excellent, well-balanced IPA.

Not a typical IPA flavour, more malty than I’d prefer with a dodgy metallic aftertaste. Pleasant enough but nothing special.

500ml. This Old Empire IPA isn’t really an IPA. Dark amber colour. Tan head. Aroma of caramels, but no real hops. Taste hadn’t really got hops either. OK but not an IPA.

Pours light amber with fluffy slightly off white head which gradually fades to a ring. Aroma of orange and spice, grassy and earthy hops. Taste is citrusy with hops and a mild bitterness. Mild sweetness and spiciness. Medium body and light carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 Botella transparente de 500ml. Copa de Vino. Color ámbar dorado y apariencia algo velada. Wine glass. Golden amber color, chill haze appearance. Off-white froth creates a close & thin crown. Fairly good retention. Slight sulfur, mild toasted, earthy & light fruity both in flavors & aromas. Medium body. Moderate to high carbonation. Oily to watery texture. Low but clean tendency to hoppiness over a kind biscuit bed. Mineral notes are shown in a refreshing bitter finish. Nice session beer.

Clear golden appearance, medium head. Hoppy, floral, fruity and malty aroma, bitter but still balanced. Not a typical IPA, but decent and refreshing.

Brown bottle again - hurrah! Nice light brown to amber pour, with a lasting white head. Piney and lightly spicy nose with a faint hint of peach, good firm bitterness over dry and juicy malt, a little grassiness and some toasted orange.

Bottle. A bit foggy, yellow. Small white head. Aroma has grain and pine. Taste has fruit, grain, citrus. Body is a bit thin, mouthfeel is watery. Turns bitter on the aftertaste, finishes well with pine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
