Old Empire is brewed using Optic malt, a subtle and paler grain that will allow other flavours to come through on the palate. Goldings and Fuggles hops are added to this brew, which is then late hopped with the American Cascade variety for extra hop strength.

It came from a 500ml clear bottle, it pours a a golden color with a pillowy 1 finger white head that lingers around. It has some small spots of lacing. The aroma is mostly dominated by grassy notes and a little skunk. The flavor, I can say isn’t going to get a fair shake. I am not sure if it got skunked, it is very grassy for an IPA . I get some toasted carmel but it also comes with a bunch of grass and grains, it is somewhat similar to an euro lager. It finishes with a leafy bitterness that lingers around. I can’t really understand how they are calling this an IPA, I would say a decent version of a pale ale.

Piekny zloty kolor i delikatna biala piana ktora znika szybko. W smaku dominuje slod ciezko tutaj znalezc wyrazna goryczke. Schlodzone smakuje ciekawie

From Hipercor, last units. In Ikea’s pint glass. After dinner. Not what is expected from an IPA nowdays. Very drinkable but low on aroma and bitterness

Beautiful snow-white foam and a hop aroma revealing flower. This ESB is soft only with gentle but pleasant hop bitterness also allows room for a floral and slightly fruity taste.

Amber gold, clear, with medium off-white head. Grassy hops aroma, hints of grapefruit. The taste is toasted malty, caramel toffee with a dry finish.

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Ok hoppy slightly spicy brew, but lacks real character.
