3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at pangaea for beer week with oysters! Aroma is very English, like a English stout or brown. Nice thick head, nice lacing. Flavor is light, there is a nice bitterness to it. Some roasted flavor. Palate is thin. Overall not bad

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle. Black, with a creamy tan head. Sweetish roasted malty aroma with fruity and chocolate notes. The flavour is roasted malty, with notes of chocolate and caramel. A little thin on the palate, but otherwise not bad at all.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample from a bottle. Dark brown, near-black color. Thin khaki head, loose bits of lace. Clear red around the edges. Milk chocolate, dark fruit, nice mild oyster brininess. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of slick lighter carbonation. Kind of chewier body for the lighter ABV. A satisfying english-style oyster stout. Good toastiness to it. Would be nice with food, I think.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle shared by DrSilverworm. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma has sweet malts typical of British beers, chocolate, some briny character. The flavor follows suit with a weird finish.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Black with frothy tan head. Light malty, soy sauce aroma. Light flavour, roasted notes, fruity, some chocolate perhaps. A bit watery but certainly drinkable.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured into a perfect pint.
3.25 A: Black color. One and a half fingers of frothy light brown head. Retention is below average and a short ring of lacing is left.
2.75 S: Not a lot going on here, which is really disappointing. Whatís worse is there isnít a lot of "oyster" in this. Light roastiness, a touch of mineral, and thatís about it.
3.25 T: Taste is also pretty underwhelming, but itís way better than the nose. Mild roastiness with an almost fruity earthiness going on. Itís hard to put into words, but it is enjoyable. I can only assume itís partially the oyster shells. A bit buttery as well. Itís not bad, but not what I wanted either.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Slippery mouthfeel.
3.0 D: Itís okay, but nothing to write home about and not much of what youíd want in an oyster stout.
