Pours a very deep brown, perhaps its black, with a thin tan head. Aroma doesn’t really jump out at you. I get toffee, a little coffee, a little bit of licorice, and raisin. The taste at first impression really has a metallic quality to it. Moving on, it has a roasted maltiness overall, bready, mild toffee, and slight qualities of licorice. Aftertaste is very bready. Light in body, with a very thin texture, and lacking in carbonation. I am not a fan of this one.

Low medium brown head, black-brown-black body. Roasted malts, floral hops in a tart cream way, hints of chocolate, coffee and iron to the nose. Roasted malts, sweet-salty liquorice, coffee notes, grassy hops, dry black chocolate to the tongue. Palate; slightly dry n creamy, moreish, smooth carbonation, good. Aftertaste with dry dark chocolate and roasted malts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Almost black color with fluffy fast-disappearing head. Aroma of milk chocolate and fruits. Taste is light sweet, light sour and a little bit bitter. Watery, not rich as it said on the bottle. Aftertaste with some bitterness, but expected more. OK beer.

Smooth – yes, rich – no way. Light roasted malt background, some choco. Feels bit too thin. Quite sweet with very light bitterness. Decent drinkable dark brew, but nothing to remember

Bottle. Clear but pitch black-brown color, nearly no head. Nose is full of roasty aromas, dominant chocolate. Taste is dominant sour, decent sweetness and light bitter. Thin mouthfeel and very flat carbonation. Aftertaste is some bready, malty notes, but no chocolate.

Disappointing. If I’d bought this as a dark ale I might have enjoyed it a little more - as a ’Stout’ beer it was a let down. Watery, insubstantial, low on flavour. Pretty much the worst stout about?
