Pours a very deep brown, perhaps its black, with a thin tan head. Aroma doesn’t really jump out at you. I get toffee, a little coffee, a little bit of licorice, and raisin. The taste at first impression really has a metallic quality to it. Moving on, it has a roasted maltiness overall, bready, mild toffee, and slight qualities of licorice. Aftertaste is very bready. Light in body, with a very thin texture, and lacking in carbonation. I am not a fan of this one.

Keg in the Manifold Hotel, Derbyshire. Black with a tan head. Pretty bland for a stout. Served over cold so the flavours were harder to detect too. Some coffee and burnt toast. OK.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Almost black, ruby color with small, creamy head. Aroma: dark malts, roasted malts, coffee, grain coffee, some chocolate. Taste is watery. Semi dry, medium bitterness. Notes of caramel, smooth grain coffee, dark malts, roasted malts, chocolate. Low body with medium carbonation. I expected more but it’s good session beer.

Mildly smoked stout with notes of chocolate. Looks like a stout with thick dark foam but is quite fruity.

Bottle - pours black with a deep ran head. Hints of smoky chocolate and caramel malt in the nose. Not a lot on the taste, dryness across the palate, again something in there registering as smokey. Nice full mouthfeel.

Nice looks, head stays long and is brown head. Rish taste for 4,5%. that makes it drinkable. Mild malty aroma. With closed eyes wouldnt say it is a stout. Overall I like it.
