3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Im quite sure this belongs under sweet stout. Pours an opaque black colour with big brown head that slowly turns into a thick ring around the glass leaving little lace. Light aroma consisting of mild roasted grain, faint coffee and sweetness. Flavours are bready, sweet, roasted malts, mild bitterness, a bit watery, mild coffee notes

50 cl can. Pretty smoky, a little too much for my taste. Otherwise a decent stout.

Salty chocolate and coffee aroma. Tan head but minimal lacing. Watery finish. Dry roasted and choclate taste and a bit of bitterness. Average stout.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: Try as I might, I could not detect any presence of oyster (shell) in the beer; the nose is mostly roasty, but also has some dark fruits (black cherries, red grape) and a hint of chocolate. Pleasant, but not strong in any regard. Appearance: Pitch black body with a mocha head that subsided into a patchy ring. Flavor: Roasty character throughout, but it somehow sits perched at a distance from the other flavor impressions- light black cherry, walnuts, chocolate. Fittingly, like the bird on the label, looking out over the calm, but dark sea. Still, no oyster for me. Maybe I am not familiar enough with the flavor, having had oyster on only rare occasion, and sadly not fresh from the water. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Perhaps best enjoyed with a plate of oysters, overlooking the water somewhere in the UK. I feel like a bit of a naÔve foreigner in trying to evaluate this beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: Black with thin tan head which was quick to disappear.
Aroma: Bread, grassy, roast/burnt malts, note of dried fruit and hint of liquorice.
Taste: Medium sweetness and bitterness, low/medium sourness and slight saltiness.
Palate: Smooth thick texture, light body, average/prickly carbonation, abrupt malty fruity, quite dry finish.
Comments: Very good.

Fruity and bitter at the same time - Nice appearance - A bit watery - Not a very lasting taste - But overall a fine beer

Spina @ gallo brillo. Nera con riflessi rubino, schiuma media e persistente. Buona tostatura gi√† al naso, corpo leggero, leggera astringenza, molto porter pi√Ļ che stout, comunque onesta. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

expecting a rich full taste, this stout is dissapointingly thin. taste is suprisingly perky, but also beneath the surface lies hidden a hint of the full round taste I wanted.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured an opaque black colour with a one- to two-finger light tan foamy head that diminished quickly and left a bit of clingy lace. Aroma subtly of malt. Taste slightly sweet with no roasted tones. Body light for a stout. Smooth finish. Ordinary.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Yum! This is a lot better than the group ratings would suggest, I think. The two biggest drawbacks, off the front, are the aroma (bready, doughy, with no suggestion of chocolate or coffee frequent to this type of beer), and a palate that is very thin for a stout, watery across the tongue.
That being said? This is an intensely drinkable beer, very easy to session a few at a time without regret. The taste is surprisingly warm, pleasant coffee and sweet ale, with only a very late and gentle suggestion of roast on the back of the tongue. The pour is BEAUTIFUL; a big black pour with a dense, dark brown head that fades to a pleasant, creamy-brown foam.
Overall? 15/20. Itís not going to win many awards in the stout category, but with a modest 4.5% alcohol and very easy-drinking taste, this is the sort of beer youíll be guiltless to drink two or three of over a meal.
File this one firmly under "damned good utility beer".

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Coffee, chocholate and some roasted malts. Dark brown to black colour with a small tan head. medium sweet and light bitterness. Light body with a bit thin texture. Lively carbonation, a bit to lively for my taste. Overall OK, but a bit to watery and to little taste here.
