Im quite sure this belongs under sweet stout. Pours an opaque black colour with big brown head that slowly turns into a thick ring around the glass leaving little lace. Light aroma consisting of mild roasted grain, faint coffee and sweetness. Flavours are bready, sweet, roasted malts, mild bitterness, a bit watery, mild coffee notes

Disappointing. If I’d bought this as a dark ale I might have enjoyed it a little more - as a ’Stout’ beer it was a let down. Watery, insubstantial, low on flavour. Pretty much the worst stout about?

Bien noire, collet moyen de fines bulles, persistant. Aromes un peu faible, chocolat léger. Onctueuse et mince a la fois, un peu fruité derrière le chocolat. Pointe d’iode sur le final.

500ml bottle from Morrisons, as Marstons Stout. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aromas of light coffee, light chocolate. Taste is more of the same. Pretty thin. Ok.

Black in colour with reddish tinge. Very malty, roasty malts, coffee, liquorice. Hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste.

Balsamy blackish with tan brown top it pours, on nose - like nothing with very far hints of roasted malts. Taste is no sweet not bitter, nor sour- weird middle. Tastes like poor dunkel, a bit yeasy-fruity esters. Hops flavor- almost absent. Medium to light bodied, min dry, floury finish. Even oysters won’t like it.

Bottle. Near black with a beige head. Aromas are earthy coal with raisins and cola. Some funky lemony notes with light coffee. Dark chocolate with dusty yeast. Flavours are cola with earthy coffee and metallic notes. Raisins with nutty cocoa and woody aspects. Some lemon, quite plummy. Not bad.

Black with a abeige bubbly head. Aromas are light, sweet roast coffee. Flavours are thin roast malts with some sweetness. Soda water on the palate with a Perrier type aftertaste. Its OK, but ultimately thin. And it doesn’t contain any oyster so it isn’t an "Oyster Stout".

On keg at the Craft Beer Rising event at the Drygate brewery. It’s almost black in colour with a nice fawn head. There’s plenty of chocolate biscuit going on but I really have to search for that savoury/salty note that I’m expecting from the oysters. It’s debatable whether it’s there at all. The taste repeats the nose and there’s a creamy textured medium bodied structure to it. The finish is also agreeable.
