Used to drink a lot of this. Looks the part, being a nice copper brown, yellowy foam head with lots of lacing. Aroma - not much. Taste is a lovely rich bitterness which fades to watery. Nice feel in the mouth. Pretty good aftertaste. It’s not amazing - just a good solid bitter. Like all Midlands beers, it has a hint of factory floor - but in a nice way.

JStax (2622) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2014
Bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a murky copper with a white head of foam that dissipates quickly. The aroma is fairly sweet with notes of raisin, grass, and leather. Taste is fairly sweet. It actually makes me think of an old english barley wine with less moody. Light to medium body with low carbonation.

Aroma is fruit, very light tropical fruit, malts and a hint of peat/vinous. The flavor is fruit, mild sweetness, mild peat/scotch notes and a slightly tart/malty finish.

0.5 L bottle (brewed in England), poured into glass. Aroma of cereal and bread. Hazy dark amber color, head is white and dissipates quickly. Medium bitterness. Medium-light body, low carbonation. Drinkable but boring.

A sweet malty aroma comes from this copper ale with a rich creamy head. A smooth sweet malty taste with a touch of bitterness in the aftertaste comes in this almost medium bodied brew. It has a light carb. But a classic english brew.
