ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Sep 26, 2009 Amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of grassy hops and biscuit, with a hint of sulphur. Sweet and malty flavour with a little fruitiness. toml42 (4), , Dorset, England does not count Sep 25, 2009 The first ale i’ve been unable to finish! Pretty standard appearance, though a little thin on the head. My immediate impression upon smelling was that it was badly spoiled, strong sulphur and skunk aromas, so i asked the landlord and he said it was supposed to smell like that.
The taste was thin and watery with a hint of smoke and sulphur returning in the aftertaste. not at all pleasant. Couldn’t get through half of it. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 29, 2009 Cask at Charlies.
Clear amber coloured with a small white head.
Fruity aroma of malts, caramel and hops.
Fruity flavour of malts, caramel, grass and hops.
Hoppy finish. floydian1 (255), FNQ, Australia Jul 10, 2009 Draught at the First Ashes Test in Cardiff. Pedigree is the official beer of the England cricket team so should be available at all the Ashes Test venues this summer. Pours clear dark orange with a small off white head. Nose of sweet malts and subtle oranges. Flavours of moderately sweet malts with a biscuity fruitiness, nuts and a touch of wood. Finishes with a nice fruity floral hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied with a smooth watery texture and very drinkable. I had 8 pints of the stuff yesterday and it went down very well. chillyice (13), Rio Nido, California, USA Jan 30, 2009 Used to be so much better than this. I come from Burton and I can definately tell the change. Gone are the sulphury, eggy taste and smooth drinking experience to be replaced with a run of the mill blandness. Dissapointing altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 24, 2009 Cask in de Wildeman, Amsterdam with Bierkoning. Orange body. Nose of citrus, fruits and hops. Good fruits throughout and in the finish. Good stuff. henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Jan 8, 2009 Gravity - Deep deep golden body, medium sized bubbles in white head; Huge and incredible nose, intense malt aromas that become like very complex sweet apple aromas, Very good; Soft textured body with a very small bubbled biting carbonation, balanced bitter and slightly sweet; Long finish that tickles your tongue, smooth bitterness from both hop and malt, very earthy aromas. Surprisingly good! DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Dec 19, 2008 The Lime Kilns, and on several dozen other occasions. Stable foam collar, ornate lacework. Bum of dog aroma you all know and love. Slick papery honey sweetness, mineral saltiness, hint of sour, drying hop finish. Certainly not spicy. Biscuit and meek raisiny fruit. Pleasant but soporific, just too slick and cereal-accented for its own good. Might entice lager drinkers. Doughy malted milk biscuit afters, vague cask and almond. Weetabix and milk. If its there and nothing else thats real is, ill drink it.
