Lovely, thick creamy pour, head took some time to settle, and still a thick coating of cream remained. Gentle malt aroma and taste, velvety smooth body. Excellent pub quaff

Cask at The Rose & Crown, Stanley Moor (Marstonís) A clear amber colour with a creamy white head. Aroma of sweet malts, biscuit, caramel and a little yeast. Taste is exactly the same with a little citrus spiciness. Light bodied and a watery texture. A short biscuit, bitterness in the finish. A standard bitter but drinkable.

Alengrin (4340) - BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2014
Classic ESB with warm, bronzy amber colour and creamy mouthfeel, malty character, nutty, hint of apples, diacetyl (buttermilk) as expected from a cask-conditioned ale, thin mouthfeel also as expected and light bitter finish. Not the biggest personality in its style, some say a victim of its own success, but still enjoyable if you like bitters.

Tasted on draft in various different pubs in my location. A reasonable ale, which is usually well-priced. A good all-rounder but nothing special.

Appearance is very clear and golden, with an amber tinge. Half-finger foamy white head. Aromas of dark fruit, lots of caramel, malts. Taste is smooth, not much bitterness, hop hints, caramel. Ok.
