2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bland and weak. Very light floral notes and a noticeable absence of hops. Lacking in the flavour department. Aftertaste is slightly mineral like and reminiscent of citrus peel. More like a below average lager than an ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Classic ESB with warm, bronzy amber colour and creamy mouthfeel, malty character, nutty, hint of apples, diacetyl (buttermilk) as expected from a cask-conditioned ale, thin mouthfeel also as expected and light bitter finish. Not the biggest personality in its style, some say a victim of its own success, but still enjoyable if you like bitters.
