Bland and weak. Very light floral notes and a noticeable absence of hops. Lacking in the flavour department. Aftertaste is slightly mineral like and reminiscent of citrus peel. More like a below average lager than an ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Revisiting this one on cask at The Railway Tavern, Richmond. As ’Marstons Pedigree’. Dark orange brown, clear, still, diminishing head. Aroma is caramel wafer, demerara. Body is very smooth with low carbonation. Not much life in it. Taste is bready and thin, more demerara, a bit of a cheesy dimension, a little astringent. Below average for style.

Cask. Pours darkish amber. Not loads of aroma, just a bit of malt. Fairly bland taste. Perhaps it was better in days gone by or perhaps there’s just better options nowadays.

Cask at the Fieldhouse Solihull. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a creamy frothy white head. The aroma is light hop, light malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a light watery, nutty, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Whatever happened to the Pedigree of old.

Last units in Hipercor. In Duvel glass. Playing Memoria. Nice beer. Very balanced but nothing amazing. Low alcohol makes it a good beer to drink in big quantities

Not a patch on what it was in the 70s. Too sweet, bland, like drinking highly sugared water

Cask at The King’s Arms, Lichfield. Pours light amber, single finger white creamy head. Aroma of lightly toasted malts, caramel, toffee...Taste of initial woodiness, then some lightly toasted malts, fruity fuggles hops...really nice and easy drinking.

Pours a finger of head on a clear medium straw body. The aroma is dry grain. The taste is mild sweet, dark fruits with a touch of lemon. The texture is smooth with low carbonation. Nice.

Pint on tap. Faint hop nose. Deep amber beer with solid white head. No carbonation. Thin body, fruity bitter taste. Finish is spicy hop/ fruity malt. Sessionable.

Lovely, thick creamy pour, head took some time to settle, and still a thick coating of cream remained. Gentle malt aroma and taste, velvety smooth body. Excellent pub quaff

Cask at The Rose & Crown, Stanley Moor (Marston’s) A clear amber colour with a creamy white head. Aroma of sweet malts, biscuit, caramel and a little yeast. Taste is exactly the same with a little citrus spiciness. Light bodied and a watery texture. A short biscuit, bitterness in the finish. A standard bitter but drinkable.
