albertane (300), Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England Jul 21, 2008 Keg draught at the Pedigree Suite, Pride Park, Derby. I preferred this slightly to the cask version because it didn’t suffer from the same sulphurous aroma. Although the flavour was weak and the palate fairly watery, Pedigree is marginally better as a bland keg beer than a fairly unpleasant cask one.
Palidor19 (1339), Brandon, Florida, USA Oct 5, 2008 This English bitter is a little bit on the watery side as well, the malts are nice and it is not too aromic, rest works and it goes down real smooth. Ole_R (1304), Oslo, Norway Oct 4, 2008 500 ml bottle. A mostly diminishing two-finger, lightly tanned, coarse head. Clear amber, well-carbonatied body. Limited aroma of semi-dry malts and mild fruity hops. Taste has a soft malt profile, light sweet with some modest caramel notes. A distinct fruity bitterness towards the finish. Not bad, but lacks some attitude. tarjei (1300), Bryne, Norway Sep 27, 2008 500 ml bottle, bought at Vaaland, Bryne. Amber color, fine off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit and some hops. The flavor is fruity with moderate sweet malt and hops. Ok bitter. Sigmund (1963), Hafrsfjord, Norway Sep 22, 2008 500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Clear amber to brown colour, moderate head. Moderate aroma with notes of malts and bread, just some faint hints of caramel, sulphur and fruity hops. The flavour has some nutty malts, and the fruity hops are more pronounced. A hint of toffee too, and a moderate bitterness in the finish. It is quite obvious that this is not a "live" beer. MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Sep 21, 2008 Bottle at EBF08. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. Malty flavour, hint of white bread. Creamy mouthfeel.
