COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A brand new hop variety from New Zealand, with intense citrus and sweet fruit character. Wai-iti means ’small water’ in the local tongue and is a hugely distinctive addition to the world of beer.

Cask gravity @ Bree Louise, Euston NW1. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity grainy grassy hoppy aroma. Fruity malty grassy hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty grassy hoppy finish.

Cask, Agricultural Hotel, Penrith. Given some of the NZ hopped beers that are around, this is a real let-down. As if Marstons have thought they’d better join the trend, but not spend too much doing it. It’s a bit sweet and cloying, thin and lacking in the taste department. None of the ’intense citrus and sweet fruit character’ that we know these hops can give a beer. Either do it properly or don’t bother....

Cask (Maypole, Cambridge)
Nice gentle fruity hop aroma, quite close to its NZ hop neighbours. Pale, small head. Taste is a letdown. It’s quite incipid and a bit chalky, and has none of the bite the aroma promised. Messy to bland.

Cask at the Bridge, Kingswinford. Pours gold with a large head. Aroma is dirty lime. Taste has an earthy start with some lime in a medium bitter finish.
