Undergrad Boozers99 (40), England Feb 10, 2002 An interesting ale from a top brewery. Genuinely interesting drop, could have done with a stronger flavour but all in all very drinkable. dreamboat (186), Brisbane, Australia Nov 18, 2004 Very clear, light copper in colour with some coarse carbonation. A thin head which falls to only a partial cover on the beer quickly. Lovely full hoppy aroma with a malty undertone. Crisp, hoppy flavour but with a nice full body and some maltiness to balance. johndoughty (1663), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Apr 22, 2006 Flowery aroma on opening.Quite malty and poured flat. Not one of Marstons best bottled beers but still pretty decent. mountainforest (107), Edinburgh, Scotland Jan 31, 2006 Updated: Aug 31, 2006Aroma is probably too strong for the mild flavor. Not a bad beer at all, especially to be refreshed. No head. Lots of bubbles. The word malt in the title and bitter in the category seem mislabeled, as this tastes like a lager (albeit one of the best I’ve had if compared to other lagers). Boystout (824), Chisinau, Moldova Aug 20, 2004 Perhaps more malts in palate than other Marston’s beers. Quite ordinary but does have hints of pedigree.
