COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for its dominate specialty malt, it has an aroma of baked biscuits with gentle fruity hops. There is a grainy bread-like flavor, with lots of hops in the finish.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2008 Cask. A bright copper orange color with a rather thick off white head. Tons of lacing left on the glass through the last drop. Aroma is sweet, hoppy, bitter and is plentiful. The flavor is slightly sweet, sour with a somewhat strong grapefruit hoppiness to it. Some malts in the background. Almost seemed more like an IPA than a Pale Ale, it certainly had a lot of flavor. But I felt the same way about the "Another Ale" I had at Martha’s. Medium bodied and pretty easy drinking if you like the style.

Toasty beer, hazy orange, served slighlty cooler than room temperature. Very nicely textured and balanced between sweet and bitter.

Hazy dark orange, light malt with bread aroma. Ends light sweet with bread-like qualities. Lightly carbonated and smooth, mild.

Deep gold in color with a slight haze and a small white head. Bready aroma with a slight floral hop character. Flavors of bread and toasted malt, assertively bitter upfront with a dry hoppy finish.

On tap at the source. Pours a clear solid light amber color with a thinnish off white head that dissipates slowly. Smells of citrus and earthy hops with a smattering of bready, dare I say, biscuit-y malt. Light hints of caramel in there as well. Smells great for a pale ale. Taste follows the smell really well, bready biscuit and a hint of caramel backed up with enough citrus and earth to keep me interested. Medium to thin body, medium level of carbonation, slick smooth almost resinous mouthfeel. I’d never tried this before on many a trip to Martha’s and I’m really glad I did. This is a smooth, clean, well balanced easy to drink pale ale.

Cask (gravity) at GBBF 2009, Day 1 @ 5.1%. Don’t know whether they have dropped the ABV or the programme notes were wrong. Very murky appearance that suggested the condition wasn’t that great. However, both aroma and flavour had a very appealing prominent aromatic, leafy hop presence, with some grapefruit notes tending towards US IPA character. So I was rather surprised to see the programme notes announcing Fuggles and EKG as the hops. I imagine this would a good drinking pint on home turf.

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Unclear hazy medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, orange. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090804]

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice floral hops, with mineral notes. In mouth, a decent pale ale with more grapefruits, British hops, herbal and chlaky. Quite nice. On tap at brewpub, Dec. 27 2009.
