3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, USA - MAY 6, 2007
Growler supplied by hophead75 (thanks!): Amber colored beer with lots of clarity and an off white film for head. The aroma is strikingly hoppy. Oily resins shoot out at you. Piney, grapefruit, nice. The flavor is ultimate hop oils. It tastes like hop extracts with a drop of malt in the body. Has an extreme pineyness and a perfumy character. Could be a bit more balanced in my opinion. Would improve significantly with age.

Draft from Martha’s. Unclear Amber in color. Nice white head with decent spider-web lace. Nose is a mix of citrus and pine. Taste is much the same, good amount of pine needles and resin bitterness. Medium body, toward the lighter side of meduim body. Slightly lingering bitterness. Well made.

Growler. Pours a deep amber color with a 1/2" off white head. Massive hop aroma with a hint of background malt. Heavy, sticky palate with low carbonation. The hop bitterness practicly bites you on the tongue. Huge hop based flavor as you would expect as well as a sweet malt undertone. Also, some secondary fruit flavor. This was one enjoyable brew. The Dr is in.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BitchesBrew (713) - Oakland, California, USA - MAY 7, 2007
[growler] Rich amber in color, with a coarse white head. Aroma is powerful, dense hops. Resinous, hops flavors are as strong as the aroma, with more fruit (peach, mango and pineapple) showing through. The malt really seems to take the backseat, allowing the hops to really dominate. Long, piney hop finish balances perfectly with alcohol warmth.

growler shared at the CL RB gathering, thanks dirtymike for this one. Relatively clear orange with some reddish highlights. Aroma has alot of citrus and pine, fresh resiny hops- citrus is slightly sweet and has alot of mango character. Taste also has a ton of hop character- sticky resiny citrus, mango, and pine. Full bodied, but not overpowering. Finishes hoppy, resinous and bitter. Carbonation was a tad low, but didn’t even make much of a difference. Excellent IIPA.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Dickinsonbeer (5075) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 6, 2007
Sweet! First rating. Thanks to Andrew (Hophead5) for sharing this growler- via Dirtymike. Pours a deep orangey copper with a very faitn head which fades due to the low carbonation from the grolwer. Aroma is Piney with lots of C-hops, some herbal hints, citrus all around- orange and some mango. Sticky big mouthfeel with a good syrupy body to hold all the hop character and bitterness- lots of citrus, lemon and orange resin, tropical hints, with a light minty pine character. Good tacky resinous finish.
