A Mes rate:
Gravicask at GBBF. Cloudy dark blonde. No real notes of the English hops for me. It’s certainly hoppy though but they give an odd minty note to the flavour which isn’t too appealing. Bitter finish. Very run of the mill.

tap at the woodstock brewfest. lightly hazy light amber/orange in color. Aroma: alot of citrus/grapefruit hits your nose, with a slight amount of malt way in the back. Taste is moderately hoppy with alot of citrus/centennial hops. Malts are subtle and in the back, but there is enough there. Finishes nice with a long lasting bitterness. well done.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a burnt butter gold that has a sticky white head. The aroma is nice, lots of herbs, hops, flowers, honey, spice. The taste starts with a hop bitterness blast followed by some smooth warm caramel consistancy (syrup but not thick) sweetness that finishes with the a grapefruit sqeeze. I like this beer a nice IPA that I could sip all day.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled onn draught at the brewpub 5/20/2005 with The Motor City Beerman, ClarkVV. Slightly cloudy amber with virtually no covering foam....pungent spicy orangy nose, earthy and spicy, my kind of stand-up IPA aroma...body at first quite bitter and full, citrusy-sour and biting, and it carries through a full-bodied midpalate and bitter floral-scented finish. This is almost there, the body could have been fuller late and perhaps just a touch of sugar would have added complexity...easily the best sample I had, though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On draught at the brewpub, 5/20/2005 with Muzzlehatch. Golden-orange colored body, lightly hazy at best, with some deep copper tones and a small white head, some retention and lacing. Aroma has notes of honeyish sweet malt, light tangerine and candied oranges from the centennial and magnum. I really enjoy magum and with the sweet, almost pils like malt in this, it reminds me, slightly, of a uber pils. Though there is a much stronger climax of bitterness, more citrus and some dirty/earthy notes from the fuggles. Medium body, with some light thinning on the end. Alcohol or some other sharp dryness (light soapiness) is slightly noticeable. Moderate carbonation, lightly watery mouthfeel.

Good beer. On tap, served in a pint glass. Aroma was hops and citrus. The flavor was the same. Very refreshing.
