COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our assistant brewer contrived this American style brown ale full or roast and a zip of hops. Drink it up before he does!

Part of an 8 beer sampler at the restaurant. Enjoyed the restaurant and all the beers I tasted were good though nothing really stood out. This brown ale was the best of the bunch.

Enjoyed on tap with brewer Greg at the brewpub in Nashua. Dark brown with a bubbly head and lots of lace. A bit above average mouthfeel, licorice in taste. Decent brown, not too sweet.

On tap at the brewpub. Served in a pint glass. Dark brown color with a thick off white head and thick lacing. Noses is nuts, malts and earth. Nice, wonderfully smooth palate. Flavor is roasted malts, an undetermined nuttiness, a hint of chocolate, all with a slight hop background. A delicious brown ale.

on cask-pours a foamy light tan head and black color. Aroma is medium/dark malt-roasty/some chocolate/nutty. Taste is medium/dark malt-roasty/some chocolate/nutty, some earthy (English) hops. Mild/minimum carbonation.

An exquisite brown ale. Remarkable off-brown head, lacy, 1-inch thick and dense atop the dark brown body. Yummy, rarely has a brown ale smelled so united, so balanced. Nutty, slightly peaty and just plain tight, cohesive flavours. Not intense, nor agressive, just tasty, balanced, in total poise. Firm medium body. Grasping roastiness, nondescript fruits. Mineral, latent dry finish. Fine cask ale that reminded me of some milds.

In short: A very smooth Brown Ale.
How: Cask at brewpub december 2007
The look: Dark mahogany body with a medium tan head
In long: Nose is typical brown ale with backed nutty and earthy brown cake notes. Body was very smooth with round and soft maltiness. Earthy notes. Some lightly roasted nuts in the finish. Very smooth and soft mouthfeel even by cask standard. Softer than a feather pillow on top of a baby’s bottom.

My Bottom Line:
Earth-covered mushrooms grow through the luscious caramel maltiness of this potentially impressive Brown Ale, but disagreeable mineral nudges pointed towards upcoming cask limitations.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam bobs atop the reddish brown.
-The nose was gorgeous, but the flavor just didn’t come through; high expectations had been created.
-Relaxed froth and a well-fed maltiness make for an enoyable mouthfeel.
-Tartness appears, probably due to some tired yeastiness.
-Either this cask had not completely dropped clear or this pint hit its bottom.

On cask at the brewpub.
