Gravity cask at GBBF Session 1 - London. Pours lightly hazy brown with a light, creamy head. The nose holds Belgian yeast, dark bread and mild cocoa. Light to medium sweet with some dry chocolate, earth, Belgian yeast and toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly sweet to finish with mild astringency, further cocoa and Belgian yeast. So so.

Gravity dispense at GBBF ’13, 13/08/13. Murky dark mahogony brown with little in the way of a head. Nose carries notes of Belgian yeast, light smoke, tarte dark fruits. Taste comprises dark pitted fruit, grapefruit, yeast esters, grass, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Drinkable enough but nothing I’d choose to revisit.

GBBF Day 1. Cloudy brown beer. Small bubbly tan head, not particularly attractive. Palate is smooth with a little fine carbonation. Light hop spice. Reasonable pine. Thin malt base. Finishes smooth and dry with a mild spicy linger. Overall okay but certainly not a looker.

Cask at gbbf 2013. Hazed chestnut brown loose cream head. Nose is raisin Belgian yeast aroma. Fruity yeast dominated the flavour. Nutty. Soft palate.

On tap at the source. Pours a solid black with a smallish tan head that persists forever. Aromas of light dark fruits, spicy Belgian yeasty esters and a hint of caramel. The hops really don’t come out in the aroma as advertised. The flavor is sweet fruity caramel malts with a heavy handed does of Belgian yeasty flavors. There is a spicy earthy hop flavor, but for my palette I have trouble enjoying them over the ever present yeasty phenols. Medium body and carbonation level with a sweet slick mouthfeel. Decent brew, but not exactly what I was expecting.
