3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 pilgrimoutlaw (488) - Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 30, 2013On tap at Martha’s Exchange. Pours golden blond with foamy white head. Banana, light fruit, coriander, pepper, hay. Low bitterness, moderately sweet. Full, smooth body. One of the better beers I’ve had here.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 daveshawley (23) - Doylestown, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2013
Growler from Martha’s Exchange, NH. Poured a nice golden with a finger’s worth of off-white head. Greeted by bananas, cloves, and a yeasty aroma up front. Smells like there is a little sour hiding in there as well. Taste follows the aroma nicely - a little sour, a lot of yeast, and some nice sweetness at the edge. The mouthfeel is light and bubbly with a quick and dry finish. Overall, this is a really nice tripel. If you happen to be at the Exchange when it is available, pull a glass.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 AirForceHops (1850) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Served in a snifter at the brewpub, 1-19-2013. Nice bright yellow color with an orange hue. Low carbonation with little head. Aromas of banana, clove, wheat and HUGE amounts of yeast. Flavor has large amounts of bread malts with banana esters and clove notes. Some apple notes. Alcohol is present but nothing to overwhelming. Some may say this is cloying. It is on the sweet side but for me it works. I like sweet and fruity Triple’s. Honestly I think the brew master did a fine job with this batch. Well done sir!
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Glouglouburp (5562) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 25, 2010
In short: A bland, lifeless, sweet, fruity and boozy Belgian blonde ale. Beh
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Clear dark yellow body topped by a white ring of foam
In long: Nose is yeasty with basic Belgian blonde ale fruity esters. Taste is honey, sweet pears, sweet peaches, doughy yeast, spicy notes, not hops noticeable. Unbalanced. Flat lifeless body. Alcohol not well hidden. Sensation of drinking a pint that has been sitting on a table for four hours. The finish is… well, the finish didn’t come soon enough.

Overall : A bit hot maybe. Not bad overall.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Jblauvs (1335) - Amesbury, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 31, 2010
Hazy Golden pour with a slight white head. Aroma is sweet candi with some light nextar fruit, peach and some pear. A real sugar bomb, this is not entirely pleasant. No depth of yeast or fruit, it hits you with a lot of candi sugar and never stops, even after the finish a sticky sweetness is left in the mouth. Not that good.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 ClarkVV (3579) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 24, 2006
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2006 Draught goblet at Marthas on 2/18/06 with Muzzlehatch. Lifeless, or near lifeless appearance with almost no visible carbonation in the goldenrod-hay colored body, lightly hazy. Off-white ring of bubbles sit on the edges, which very soon are gone as well. The nose shows some spicy white pepper/coriander notes, with a long, drying alcohol presence, though just a sharp perfuminess, not raw fusels/ethanol. Heavy sugar cookie dough pulverizes the potentially delicate yeasty phenols, though as it warms, there are brief interludes of light pineapples and lemon. The flavor is HEAVILY sweet, defining syrupy and cloying, with an almost sour, very abrasive alcoholic sharpness. Yeast is not overly doughy, but this beer is just way too sweet. I’m never a big proponent of brewpubs doing draught trippels and this one exemplifies my reasoning: undercarbonated to the extreme and with very large, loose bubbles from artificial pressure really exacerbate the huge sweetness. If this beer was properly carbonated, it might stand a chance, but not like this. Sweet canned peach syrup, honey and phenols of pepper and almost a rye like dryness (which is severely subsumed by the sugars).
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - FEB 21, 2006
5 oz sampler at the brewpub in the company of ClarkVV GeuezeLord. Pale amber with a bit of lasting head, slightly cloudy and sparkly....sweet, yeasty honeysuckle and fresh heather in the nose, nice but too restrained and simple....very sweet, syrupy front, yeasty and juicy with canned apple and peaches, a bit of vanilla creeps in along with a slight alcohol note....somewhat artificial, poorly attenuated, not very true to style but more importantly just not very pleasant or easy to drink.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jcwattsrugger (10000) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JAN 30, 2006
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2009 on tap-pours a reducing white head with gold color. Aroma is grain, sweet, banana, spice, nail polish remover. Taste is overly sweet, alcohol.
090122-rerate-a nice interpretation of a tripel, nice sweet malt, fruity and semi dry.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 fbennett (293) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 23, 2006
This beer pours a golden raisin color and leaves a thin white lace that sticks to the glass to let you know some sweet notes are about to happen on your palate. The aroma is delightful, candied fruit, plums, figs, bananas, sweet overipened fruit. The taste is sweet not overpowering, rum soaked fruit is what comes to mind. As I let this sit on my palate a little more, some buttery notes began to rise finishing like a fine apple brandy with the alcohal presence.
