COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Toasted malt in aroma, full-bodied and malty sweet. Deceptively smooth for its strength (7.9%). Munich malt is the guiding force and stays with you from first sip to last and beyond.

Draught. This is a nice simple dopple B with a nice malt character and good hopping.

Draft on 10 March, 2013. Served in Martha’s unique glass ware. Dark brown color with lots of ruby highlights. Aromas are ripe dark fruit, bread, and caramel. Soft carbonation with a sweet mouthfeel. Taste of malt, dark fruits, light roasted grains and a hint of toffee afterwards. This batch weighed in at 8.8 % ABV. And honestly only a very little hints of it on the backend. Very nice and worth a try.

on tap-pours no head and hazy amber color. Aroma is mild sweet malt then some dark fruit-towards vinuous, dusty/grainy. Taste is sweet medium malt-slight chocolate, some dark fruit-towards vinuous, dusty/grainy, alcohol. Minimum carbonation.

On tap at Martha’s, served in a tulip style glass. Pours a nice clear brown color with a tiny off white head. Aroma is sweet malt and caramel. Smooth, silky palate with a substantial body. Flavor is all malt with caramel and toffee in the background. Finishes with a warm, glowing alcohol burn. Very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2008 i had no idea what to expect from this, comming from an almost unknown brewery. I bought a growler and reallly enjoyed it. redish amber hue, malty nose. very malty mouthfeel, not watery at all. Pretty intense bock. I like it a lot, congrats to marthas

Pours a beautiful, deep red. sweet, malty aroma, alcohol very present, but not so much that it’s overdone. Very nice and well done. reminded me a bit of the sam adams double bock.

Slightly fruity, sweet malt aroma. Dark, brownish amber in color, with a nice white head. More sweet malt flavors, with some frutiness and a solid alcohol presence. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel. Very nice, overall.

I’m rather surprised the ratings for this beer are this high. Certainly not bad, but nothing to rave about. Sweet, as a Doppelbock should be with flavors of hard candy and bubble gum. Enjoyable.

Fantastic beer. Had on tap from brew pub. It was served with a thin light brown head. The color was a deep, dark amber. The aroma sweet chocalate/carmel that gives way to sweet cherries. The flavor is smooth, dry and malty.

Red color with off-white head and a little lacing. A sweet malty taste with hints of caramel.
