3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ruby purple hue with small tan ring and little lace. The aroma hints of plum and apple, caramel and toasted malts, floral hops, and zesty yeast esters. The taste starts fruity, sweet and surprisingly mild. Lots of sublime malt tones. Very mild bitterness and zesty spice on finish. The mouthfeel is soft yet refreshing and the alcohol is well hidden. This is a nice brew that works well with dinner. Even the swill drinker with me really enjoyed it, "the best damn beer I ever had" in his opinion.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft on 10 March, 2013. Served in Martha’s unique glass ware. Dark brown color with lots of ruby highlights. Aromas are ripe dark fruit, bread, and caramel. Soft carbonation with a sweet mouthfeel. Taste of malt, dark fruits, light roasted grains and a hint of toffee afterwards. This batch weighed in at 8.8 % ABV. And honestly only a very little hints of it on the backend. Very nice and worth a try.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 A slight sweetness at the end and a great maltiness throughout make this a great beer. Gets better as it gets warmer, like most beer IMHO.
