COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Martin House There Will Be Stout
That’s right, The Original Pretzel Stout. This 6.5% abv stout is as black as West Texas Intermediate and is brewed with over six pounds of crushed sourdough pretzels per barrel. Guess what? There’s no style guideline for this one. The salty fingerprint of the pretzels works with the sweet and roasty flavors of the chocolate malted & roasted barley to give this beer a flavor that is much greater than the sum of its parts.

Bottle from blutt59 and odd concept for beer although I supposed served side by side often enough bound to happen. Dark roasted brown with fine head. Nose is chocolate and pretzel amazingly. I did get the pretzel right off bat and had to check deScription to make sure actualy made with them, also chocolate, roasted malt, licorice. Salty finish. Semi sweet. Kinda odd I prefer the chocolate bar combo of salt and chocolate over the beer version.

Can. Deep brown with a dense, sticky pretzel-colored head. Aroma is like the outside of a pretzel -- that dark, somewhat burnt, charred, crusty flavor. A lot of acrid roast in here. Great body -- smooth, creamy, hefty, thick and tongue-coating. Intensely ashy up front with chocolate in the back. Really nice, full flavor -- but there’s no pretzel.

Lewisville, Tx - Total Wine & More - 16 oz can. Deep dark black motor oil like pour with a thin but persistent mocha colored head; thin rings of lacing. Chocolate-like aroma, some earthy topsoil accents a touch of creosote. Flavor is solid with bittersweet chocolate accents, some espresso notes, a brief touch of the advertised salty doughiness found in pretzels. Mouthfeel has a solid thickness to it. Pretty solid.

Black with fast fading head that smells of roasted malts. Taste is lots of roasted, hints of chocolate, pretty good stout. After reading deScription was really looking for the taste of pretzel. I think I am tasting it but it could just be I have made up my mind it is there so it is. At any rate this is a good stout and one that I would enjoy again but the cost of this 4 pack tall boys was a bit too high for me to buy again.
