COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Martin House There Will Be Stout
Thatís right, The Original Pretzel Stout. This 6.5% abv stout is as black as West Texas Intermediate and is brewed with over six pounds of crushed sourdough pretzels per barrel. Guess what? Thereís no style guideline for this one. The salty fingerprint of the pretzels works with the sweet and roasty flavors of the chocolate malted & roasted barley to give this beer a flavor that is much greater than the sum of its parts.

On tap at the brewery - jet black with a khaki head. The aroma is mocha and the taste is burnt malt and too salty.

Poured a black with a tan head. Taste of coffee, roasted dark malts, slight cocoa, but I couldnít pick up on any pretzel flavor. Medium carbonation, medium body

Poured a deep brown with a dark head and great lacing. Taste of good burnt malt and a hint of alcohol.

On draft. Pours black as night. Aroma of salt. Flavor is bready, slightly salty, followed by chocolate malts before finishing with... an unexpected bit of licorice flavor. Extremely unusual, but somehow just right. Well done.

Pretty much black. Tan head and lacing. Chalky. Bitter wet flavor. Thereís some sweet doughyness with very little dank at first but it fades rather quickly.

Black pour with a thin khaki head. Nose is sweet and roasty with a little touch of black malts, dark chocolate sugars, and slightly burned toast. Big sweet earthy roasted flavor with a depth of dark cocoa, burnt toast, a touch of sweet licorice, and a lightly smokey earthy sweet finish. Cheerful!

On tap. Deep black body with some tan head. Smells great - roasted malt, chocolate, slight coffee. More chocolate and roast in the flavor with a salty/savory element that really adds a nice layer of complexity. My favorite from Martin House thus far.

Black with a small brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee, and caramel, and yes, it does actually smell like there are pretzels in it. Taste is sweet and roasty and slightly salty. Pretty full body.

Pitch black pour and a khaki head. Nose is salt, oatmeal, sweet, roasted malts, and coffee. Nice palate, chewy chocolate malts, bitter, sweet, salty, and a smooth finish.
