COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Texas Saison Ale.
The River House is a pale colored and sessionable beer at about 5% abv. We created this beer to satisfy the thirst of both aficionados and novices. The River House Saison is something refreshing and easy drinking, but with an exciting and fascinating flavor. A special yeast blend created by Martin House gives this beer hints pepper and earthiness. Plenty of flavor and aroma hops yield a floral and citrusy essence.

On tap at BTBF. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are grassy and grainy with medium strong esters (isoamyl acetate a bit strong among those), dry sage, black pepper, lightly leathery. Flavors are dry, fusel alcohol, peppery, a bit of harsh esters. Feels like it is missing a malt back bone (not sweetness, just something else as right now it is watery and a bit thin with some stressed yeast notes). Thin bodied with lively carbonation.

Pours light gold with a foamy white head that quickly fades to a thin cap. Smells like a meadow. Taste is similar with a bit of black pepper on the finish.

Clear yellow pour, explosive rocky head. Nose is yeast and light malt. Bitter. Middle is honey, hint lemon zest, spice, and lightly kilned grain. Finish is dry. Not bad.

Pale yellow brew with decent head that didn’t hold long. Very strong smell of something like mustard. Guess that is the pepper they described. Due to aroma was wondering if I even wanted to drink it. Tasted better than the smell. Still a very spicy brew but does have some grainy malts hiding in it. For the price tag on the four 16oz cans this one is a major flop.

At Scardello. Cloudy yellow with fizzy white head. Citrus, wheaty, lively carbonation. Good.

Can at Scardello tasting. Clear gold color with a white head. Classic saison aroma with some banana ester. Flavor had some earthiness, banana, clove. Nice but maybe a touch thin.

Clear gold with a solid rocky white head. Nose has some funky leafiness with some sweet wheat tones and a little coriander and a nice belgian playfulness. The taste was mostly the same--sweet wheaty tones mixed with belgian saisons yeast and leafy grassiness for hops. Nice balance, very quaffable and pleasant to drink all around. It’s not going to blow back the hair of beer nerds but for a canned TX beer, its mighty fine.

Poured a clear yellow color from the can with aromas of grass, coriander, yeast, bubble gum and some light funk. Flavors are dirty hay and grass with some light bubble gum and yeast, light funk and spice on the back end, sold overall.

Sweet smell. Taste like a gentle ipa mixed with hezeweizen. Subtle leafyness. With orange rind
