Why wait until October? Itís name is close to the more familiar October beers youíve heard of, but it doesnít have much more in common. The Martin House fall seasonal is brewed to 6% abv with oats, caramel malts, and cherry wood smoked malts. We use a Munich malts for the base of this beer giving it defined malty flavor, perfect for the fall weather. The oatmeal lends a smooth and velvety mouthfeel. The smoked malts give the beer just a hint of smoke flavor. We add generous portions of Chinook and Northern Brewer hops for flavor. While SeptemberFest is hoppier than most brown ales, its not overwhelming and compliments the maltiness perfectly. 22SRM.

Malty amber color with a big head. Aroma is sugar free candy. Light body. Light malt flavor. Just not much going on here. All that you get from it is the artificial sweetener aftertaste.

Pours a clear brown color with off-white head. Oats, caramel malt, spice, and some dark fruits and wood on the nose; follows onto the palate. Lotís going on with this brown ale. Well done.

On tap at Untapped Fest. Amber brown brew with some off-white head. This beer is tough to place - nose of roasted and caramel malt, slight smoke, some hops. Lots of malt in the flavor with a smooth and smoky finish.

Tap. The look is a brown, touch of red, and has a decent beige colored head. The smell is malty, sweet, hops, cereal, sugary, oats, and spice. The taste is crisp, malts, hops, caramel, sticky, and decent.

On tap at FM Smokehouse. Brown in color with a good sized cream colored head. Aroma is of toffee, chocolate, light florals and citrus, and pie crust. Taste is of chocolate, oatmeal, pastry dough, with a light citrus tang. Very smooth and easy to drink.

On tap at Untapped fest. Brown-orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some strong chocolate notes as well as some light smoke. The flavor is a bit different. While the dry chocolate is still present, I get a lot more smoke and charred malt notes in the flavor. Still, this is an easy to drink beer. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Interesting beer. Glad I got to try it.
