4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. Pours cloudy orange/brown, with a white head. Aroma is pine, caramel, malt, and citrus. Flavor is caramel, pine, malt, and alcohol. Medium body. Fairly long, somewhat bitter finish. An unexpected good one here.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can from blutt59, June 28, 2014, in a glass. Dark amber with red hues and big beige head. Aroma is strong caramel malt, medium body, medium/low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is caramel malt, dank hops, herbal hops, and bitter finish. Lots of flavor, alcohol pretty well covered, just not my thing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 oz. can. Pours a medium, we’ll retained, light beige head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, dark amber (SRM 15) body.......nose is pine, resin, toasted malts, balance to the hops......taste is very slightly sweet to start, with barest hints of toffee/caramel, then strong pine, resin, citrus peel, arrive, finishing with strong hop bitterness, no esters, balance to the hops......moth feel, medium body, sticky, alcohol warmth present, carbonation adds tingle, and light acid. This is a very hop heavy, dominated, beer balanced back by just enough malts. The hops are not overly complex in either aroma or flavor, but they are very definitely American. BJCPP 7/3/14/4/7

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
16 oz. can from my Secret Santa. Thanks man!. Pours a rich red color with a medium off white head. Big pine and citrus aroma. Mild caramel and red malt sweetness. Flavor is bitter, hop forward, with a sweet caramel malt background. Somewhat sticky palate, full bodied, above average carbonation. Finishes with a lingering bitterness. Pretty good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Burnt sugar and metallic hops from the aroma. Pours a murky copper red with a sweet musty and malty taste. The hops are there for bitterness but not much more. Finish is sweet and long.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
This thing doesn’t hit as hard as you would expect from a 9.7%, but introduces a ton of flavor as it flows. The finish is distinctly grapefruit but in no way offensive. It’s almost too-drinkable for an ale so strong. Love every sip.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber/red brew that smells of pine and toasted malt. Taste is thick with pine with only a small amount of the malt flavor coming through. Almost an IPA with all the hops this one is packing. Very good brew and a decent ABV to at least sorta justify the higher cost. Would love to make this one of my regulars but the sticker shock makes me stay with more affordable brews wtih about the same hop kick and high ABV. Well and then there is the CAN thing again. For the price would like to have seen bottles.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Deep red. White head good lace. Delicious red ale aroma. This is better than hop head red used to be. Nuff said. This is the new hop head Texas red.
