10,7, 6, 7, 9, 7 - 7,25

33 cl bottle at home. Appearance: clear golden with medium white head. Aroma: light malts, floral notes, grass. Taste: medium sweetness with medium bitterness. Notes of sweet malts and metal. Palate: light body, oily texture and fizzy carbonation. Can’t compare this one with other IPA’s.

33cl bottle on 05-Mar-2016, poured into a long stemmed tulip glass. Flavour of caramel, light citrus fruits and sweet malt. Fruity, slightly sweet and fragrant. Lightly hopped. European in style - close to a Belgian style IPA, but not quite.

33 cl Belle couleur orange limpide.

Bottle, 330ml from Beer & More, Brussels, Belgium. Amber toward copper with hefty white head. This proves to be quite an understated IPA, not really hop forward at all. There is a mid roasted, drying body, just a touch metallic with an earthy, leaf litter character. The hop note is dry leafy, earthy, some bitterness. It’s not a world beater but it’s okay and drinkable.

If this was a pilsener i would rate it good, but for an IPA its realy bad. The label was promissing though. Not good.

Bottle from Abbots Ale House. Clear gold, very carbonated. Spicy, vegetable aroma. Kind of dry with obvious Belgian yeast and a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen, Poppel, Belgium. At 1,30e not expensive. This bottle is misleading. First and foremost, it’s not an IPA at all. True enough, it is a good tasting beer. Taste is balanced. A tad of bitter hops at first, then a bit smoky, wood, banana, sweet with a nice after taste. Enjoyable. That being said, the bottle says; Belgium’s "Finest IPA", almost as if the brewer knew they had to put the Finest IPA between quotation marks. This is NOT an IPA, and any lover of hoppy, IBU-heavy beers will feel disappointed at the least. A lot of continental european brands tend to label their hoppy beers as just that; Hop, Triple-hop, cascade, Hop-it, you name it. Had Martin’s done that, my rating would have been higher. This tastes like a Tripel with only a slight hint of what an IPA should be. Misleading, and therefore a 2.7. An enjoyable beer, but this is cheap marketing tactics, and I don’t buy those.
