Bottle 33cl. A yellow amber ale with a huge head that remains properly. Smell is very nice on hops and malt. Aroma is very nice too, wonderful hop flavor and bitterness, nice malt and sweetness, finish is caramel like and with a long harmonious bitterness and floral notes. Nice experience.

Long time ago had this one, wrote the following down:
Pours a tiny head.
No smell, strange enough since the taste is full, hoppy, light bitter, hint of spices and nuts,

Bottle in Leuven. Darker than your average pale ale. Good balance. Nice enough, but not outstanding.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good beer, not exceptional, but rich taste, longlasting foam and a nice colour. (In Belgium) not 6%, but 5,8% alcohol.

Someone tell me how this very English-looking beer ended up being brewed in Belgium? Nonetheless in spite of the red white and blue motif it pours reasonably attractive, head is there but not dense enough and dies down quick. On the nose is some rotten cabbage, grain and dough, scent of a non-alcohol seems to linger around it actually. The taste is something different, like a vegetable beer, slight grassiness but also some malts in there and all with a dry finish. Donít think it all comes together extremely well, though.

22nd February 2008. Strong bitter/ale smell belying itís pale ale status. Fairly crisp - malt dominates the slight hoppyness. Lingering dry slightly bitter malt finish. Brings back those misty water colour memories of drinking sub standard ale in the 1970s!!
