COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who can ignore John Martinís ale that our ancestors called "the noblest of English Pale Ales". This unique beer of 6% ABV is the fruit of truly exceptional craftsmanship, a unique technique whereby authentic Kent hop-bells are added after brewing.

While this looks like an English brew, with the dark amber pour and syrupy presence, it actually tastes like it has been brewed in Belgium. So, if you would like to try a hyrid between, say, a Youngís Ramod and a Leffe Brune, Iíd say youíd want this. There are caramel hints, very light hops presence manifested as cherries, a heavier than normal carbonation (for a Brit style), anda lot of grains. Think, "hybrid."

A very nice and balanced beer with a beautifull name. It has a very well composed smell and taste. The name of this beer is perfect ;-) and the labels is also very nice

Bright dark amber hue, with a frothy white head, with a fruity, apple note, floral hops, hint of cinnamon, caramelized malt aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate with caramelized malt, nuty, biscuity note, fruity, sweet crystal malt, floral hops, leading towards a good lingering bitterness finish.

Bottled. Golden copperish colour with small white creamy head. Fruity hoppy aroma with caramellish hints. Flavour fruitish and hoppy. OK.

Brown-amber coloured with a white head. The aroma is hoppy and a bit malty. The taste is a malty, sweet and a bit hoppy. There is also caramel noticeable. (Bottle 33cl, 5.8 alcohol % in my version)

Great looking ale, a clear, light copper color with a fizzy, frizzy white head. The aroma is orange and rose petals atop a sweet, fruity caramel malt. Light but volatile in the mouth, the flavor is malt with tart tangerine and perhaps some sweet cherries. The finish is nicely bitter with herbal tones. This is indeed a tasty, well balanced ale.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2007 (Bottle 33 cl) Neat, clear amber colour with a small off-white head. Sweetish, perfumy malty nose. Sweet, almost sirupy flavour with some caramel malt. A solid bitter finish saves this from being cloying. 090805 and 080800

Lots of carbonation and an unusually large, creamy head. Some hops in the flavor but mostly malts. This is actually so sweet itís like drinking syrup.

sayravai (4674) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 29, 2005
(Bottled) Clear, deep amber color with a small, tight and lacy head. Almost no aroma, only a hint of aromatic, grassy hops. Malty, acidic and somewhat harshy bitter flavor with an aromatic-hoppy, soft finish. Some sugariness in the background. Medium-bodied, carbonated palate. Iím not sure who this beer is meant to please. Not me, at least.
