COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who can ignore John Martinís ale that our ancestors called "the noblest of English Pale Ales". This unique beer of 6% ABV is the fruit of truly exceptional craftsmanship, a unique technique whereby authentic Kent hop-bells are added after brewing.

Lots of carbonation and an unusually large, creamy head. Some hops in the flavor but mostly malts. This is actually so sweet itís like drinking syrup.

(Bottled) Clear, deep amber color with a small, tight and lacy head. Almost no aroma, only a hint of aromatic, grassy hops. Malty, acidic and somewhat harshy bitter flavor with an aromatic-hoppy, soft finish. Some sugariness in the background. Medium-bodied, carbonated palate. Iím not sure who this beer is meant to please. Not me, at least.

Clear amber colour with a large white head. Aroma has fruit, malts and caramel. Sweet and malty to begin in the taste, nicely bitter in the finish. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated. Pretty good.

larsga (6120) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 12, 2005
Dark orange, initially large creamy head, which quickly subsides. Nose like many pale ales, but fruitier. Taste full of malts, but with a fruity body, followed by a deliciously sharp, bitter aftertaste with hints of spice. Overall, very nice for an English pale ale; more taste than what is usual.

Deep orange body, good whitish head. Strong aroma, caramel and sugar. Sweet with ripe fruit, rather one-dimensional and a bit cloying. Still itís full-bodied and tasty.

33 cl bottle, simply called "Martinís Pale Ale", now available in Norway. ABV is 5.8%. Website www.anthonymartin.be Deep golden nearly orange colour. Large head. Aroma of sweet malts, molasses and rotting fruits, hints of spices and leather. Flavour is well hopped, but unfortunately there is an everpresent molasses and dark syrup sweetness in the background, making the beer too cloying to be something Iíll buy again when I have finished my 4 bottles.
