Who can ignore John Martin’s ale that our ancestors called "the noblest of English Pale Ales". This unique beer of 6% ABV is the fruit of truly exceptional craftsmanship, a unique technique whereby authentic Kent hop-bells are added after brewing.

Warm amber with a nice and lasting head. The flavour is very complex with notes of malts, hops and fruit. The bitterness is moderate, but it grows and develops further in the finish.

33cl bottle, 5.8%, made in Belgium, in the trademark glass. the aroma is sweet with hops and a sent of oranges. the color is great pale amber. very nice thick off white head. a unique bubble layer coats the bottom of the glass, with a pillar rising in the middle due to the engraving on the base, the bitterness engulfs the entire mouth very pleasantly, with brilliantly balanced malt sweetness and flavour. only draw back: the after taste bitterness is unpleasant. texture is a bit thick and sticky, in a good way. average carbonation in the mouth. A Great Beer!!! one of my favorites.

A welcome change of pace but is an unexceptional beer overall. Caramel, metal and candy sugar in the nose. Has English pale ale flavor qualities and is balanced.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2008 I must say that, when fresh on tap, this is quite an amazing industrial beer. Dry-hopping gives a very good "golding" aroma, well balanced with nice sweet malts. Alcohol is well hidden in mouth, just a bit warming. The flavour is balanced of good malts and a crisp dry hop bitterness.

Amber color with normal head. Nice traditional pale ale aroma, balanced between malt sweetness and hops. Nice malty flavours, not very hopy but they’re there. Some spicy finish. A nice beer overall.

Bottle. Nose is sweet with some hop aroma. Nice amber color with a white head. Balanced flavor, sweet darker malt with a hint of bitterness. Full bodied with some bite.

Bottle @ Kelly’s Pub, Antwerp. Pours a nice bubbly copper with a small creamy, staying and a little dirty white head. Aroma has caramel and a spicy hoppy edge to it. Flavour begins of very caramelly sweet before turning quite dry and flowery hoppy. Good brew!

Curiosamente soddisfacente._________ENGLISH TEXT HERE________Would you swear that John Martin made a pretty decent brew? This pale ale lacks of hops and would deserve more body, but anyway is a very pleasant experience: its sweetness is not synthetic, it evokes honey, cherries, red fruits and goes a little adstringent in the finale with a citrus note (the sourness is very low, instead). Curiously satisfying.

In short, a beer that lives up to the commercial description. The look and smell are both very appealing, with a very sweet overtone. The flavor is fantasic, with a nice mix of honey and hops. The finish was somewhat bitter, but not unusal for this style. In the end this was enjoyable beer and no doubt fantastic off the tap. Cheers.
