COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who can ignore John Martin’s ale that our ancestors called "the noblest of English Pale Ales". This unique beer of 6% ABV is the fruit of truly exceptional craftsmanship, a unique technique whereby authentic Kent hop-bells are added after brewing.

Bottle at a random bar in Antwerp. Last beer of the night. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of light fruits and light grass hops. Flavor follows with some malt and honey sweetness, a bit of light fruits, and not much else. Finishes a little dirty. Body is light but the maltiness of this comes off as too sweet. Medium carbonation. Meh. No thanks.

Pours a clear golden with a weak white head that falls back into a small rim that doesn’t leave much lacing. Nose is quite English indeed with some earthy and floral hops over a light caramel base. Taste is indeed a little sweet and surprisingly not belgian at all in character, pretty straightforward English pale ale. Bitterness is low and maybe even lacking so it feels a little unbalanced. Caramel and bread notes mostly. Body is medium, carbonation downright aggressive. Not bad but definitely not overly interesting.

33cl bottle. Pours a brown wood, clear with eggshell small head. Nose : cherry, plums, caramelized malts. Smoked and whisky notes. Sip : Oily with a small carbonation. Little sweet followed by coffee bitterness which I find amusing since it’s a pale beer. Caramel and dried fruits are still present. Honestly it’s a surprising beer. From taste I would say it’s more of a typical brown brown.

Nice amber color with white head that sticks to the glass. Sweetish aroma of wet straw and grainy bread. Flavor starts with a bit of honey before the mildly bitter tang of hops kicks in, but that turns the corner into a drop of caramel-sugar on the back end. Lively mouthfeel, nice for a pale ale but typical for a Belgian. Somewhat wet. A refreshing beer that’s a step too far on the sweet side to be good for session drinking. But that nice kick of hops saves it from being boring. I deem it a good beer.

Clear amber colour with generous light tan head - good lacing. Delicate floral nectar, hops, celery, spices and doughy yeasts. Medium body. A smooth soft but generous hoppy bitter spicey start and less bitter together with malty sweetness middle. After the initial hops burst the remainder of the palate and flavour is a bit like a lowly carbonated Brit draught ale. The more I had the more I liked it.

Een goede, degelijke Pale-Ale. Niet de beste dat er te vinden is, maar is wel heel degelijk
