Light brown with light yellow rich cap. Rich nice pale ale taste, but without specific notes, mild afterbitterness at the root of tongue.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Nekronos (3231) - Xalapa, MEXICO - DEC 26, 2005
It was being a little unfair with this beer, since not much people talk about it. But it is really good, smells nice and the flavour is great. The beer is cloudy, and very spicy, but the backtaste is fast.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 ohad (16) - ISRAEL - DEC 8, 2007
33cl bottle, 5.8%, made in Belgium, in the trademark glass. the aroma is sweet with hops and a sent of oranges. the color is great pale amber. very nice thick off white head. a unique bubble layer coats the bottom of the glass, with a pillar rising in the middle due to the engraving on the base, the bitterness engulfs the entire mouth very pleasantly, with brilliantly balanced malt sweetness and flavour. only draw back: the after taste bitterness is unpleasant. texture is a bit thick and sticky, in a good way. average carbonation in the mouth.
A Great Beer!!! one of my favorites.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Swaroga (797) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 5, 2011
33cl bottle. Pours a brown wood, clear with eggshell small head. Nose : cherry, plums, caramelized malts. Smoked and whisky notes. Sip : Oily with a small carbonation. Little sweet followed by coffee bitterness which I find amusing since it’s a pale beer. Caramel and dried fruits are still present. Honestly it’s a surprising beer. From taste I would say it’s more of a typical brown brown.

Very unusual Belgian that I really enjoyed.

This is the original Courage brewery’s Bulldog Pale Ale which was imported into Belgium by John Martin. The hop bells add a delicate darjeeling tea flavour. Fairly restrained yet bursting with sweet flavours this is a very special pale ale. Now brewed only in Belgium exclusively by the John Martin family it has been re-named as John Martin’s Original Ale. It’s ironic that it’s only in Belgium that some of Britain’s finest ales can be experienced!

Clear copper colour, white head. Aroma rather restrained, but very nice. Floral and citrus hops on a malt base. Quite sweet, quite pronounced honey and some caramel. Flavour is malty, nice bitter hops tones, citrus fruits, honey. Very balanced. Finish bit bitter with citrus tones.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 tderoeck (3057) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUL 6, 2010
*** bottle was 2 years past expiration date ***
Pours a clear amber beer, beige creamy head. Smells like caramel, pear and banana, most likely due to it’s age. A pleasant mouth feeling, still enough carbon. Tastes fresh and little sour at first, continues to a sweet malty taste with caramel. Aftertaste is a little sweet, roasted malts and some acidity, again: maybe due to it’s age.
