COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who can ignore John Martin’s ale that our ancestors called "the noblest of English Pale Ales". This unique beer of 6% ABV is the fruit of truly exceptional craftsmanship, a unique technique whereby authentic Kent hop-bells are added after brewing.

Clear copper colour, white head. Aroma rather restrained, but very nice. Floral and citrus hops on a malt base. Quite sweet, quite pronounced honey and some caramel. Flavour is malty, nice bitter hops tones, citrus fruits, honey. Very balanced. Finish bit bitter with citrus tones.

Bottle @ home. Amber color white head sparkling. Sweetish smell, and slightly sweet taste with some fruit and honey, light bitter. Medium carbon, moderated bitter aftertaste. Interesting, tasty and refreshing.

[I believe this is the beer I've had even though the label only called it Martin's Pale Ale, the label was different than the one depicted, and the alcohol content was only 5.8% ABV. But as far as I remember it was made by John Martin.] The aroma is sweet with powerful notes of hops. The color is amber and it has a beutiful though collapsing head. The flavor is fantastic; sweet, malty with notes of caramel and ending on a good bitter note. A really lovely beer.

A nice, easy drinking Pale Ale, that is brewed in Belgium. Not as much bite as some Pale’s, but very refreshing and enjoyable on this nice spring-like day.

Bottled dated 20/05/06 expiration. This one poured a nice amber color with a decent head and some good lacing. The aroma was definitely hoppy, but enjoyable after a run of Belgian beers. A mildly grapefruit malty base (may be my first English pale ale with that aspect) was accompanied by a nice (not too strong) hoppy finish of pine trees and flowers. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

Nice colour, for this clear amber beer. Pleasant aromas of caramel, hops and spices. Alcohol taste is present. Oily texture, soft carbonation and long finish.

December 2006: from BA. Very impressed with this beer, bought in Brussels at a GB supermarket. I poured it into a ’Hoegaarrden Grand Cru’ glass and it suited. Lovely full amber, copper/bronze colour with an off-white head which stays through the drink. A sweet aroma of caramel and toffee apples, the taste is more hoppy, but there is a sweetness to it also, very ’more-ish’ and extremely drinkable. I ate a good quality Lincolnshire Pork Pie (with green pepper mustard) with this bottle, they complimented each other perfectly. I shall be getting a shed load of this on my next visit to Belgium.
