2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 sayravai (4654) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 29, 2005
(Bottled) Clear, deep amber color with a small, tight and lacy head. Almost no aroma, only a hint of aromatic, grassy hops. Malty, acidic and somewhat harshy bitter flavor with an aromatic-hoppy, soft finish. Some sugariness in the background. Medium-bodied, carbonated palate. I’m not sure who this beer is meant to please. Not me, at least.

33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. FE16/08.
App.: Medium-amber, clear, moderate off-white head.
Aroma: Grain and loads of apple juice, both old and new, a touch of spice (maybe?), some sticky toffee; hops is conspicuously absent.
Palate: Medium body and effervescence.
Flav.: Lots of old apple juice and apple cider, some toffee, a bit of spice, a little wood and cardboard; an odd sweet/bitter finish.
Horrific. And boring.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 ClubGonzo (2689) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 14, 2010
Bottle @ some cafe in Brussels. Pours a clear, light nougat body with a moderate white top. Aroma is pale malts, ale yeast and molasses. Taste is too sweet, with caramel and an ale-yeasty smoothness that actually makes the molasses become even worse. Some metallic aftertaste tones. A Belgian-style EPA of the lesser kind, in my opinion.
