bartlebier (2966) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - DEC 23, 2015
50cl bb06/2016, Maruhn. Rich, yet tasty amber-ruby DB full of subtle mahogani malt aromatics, chestnut peel and almost cured wood. No hints of that cow fodder or starch, instead offering some nice raisin and toffee caramels for a gratifying shared pre-Yule sipper.

Idiosynkrasie (5549) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - AUG 10, 2014
330ml bottle. Clear chestnut colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, red fruit jelly, notes of red and blue berries goes along with a herbal touch as if they were still clinged to their scrubs. Taste is initially dry herbal, later more sweet and fruity, again with notes of red and blue berries, before the sweetness transforms to chocolate, toffee, caramel; average to lively carbonation. Not bad.

0.33 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Dark amber to reddish brown color. Sweet aroma with dark bread, raisins, toasted nuts and toffee. Sweet dark bread and raisiny taste with toffee, some warming character, some stingy alcohol also. Not softest dobbelbock but still fairly nice.

330 ml bottle, thanks Timo A. Pours a dark ruby amber colour with a white head. Aroma of bread, donuts, red berries and earth. Rich flavour of toasted bread, red berries, herbal notes and licorice. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes sweet and slightly warming. Enjoyable.

33 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours clear dark mahogany color with a small head. Aroma of bread, caramel, roasted malts, some toffee notes and faint syrupy notes. Flavor of caramel malts, ripe dark fruits, syrup, faint brown sugar and bread. Smootish sweet palate. Nice.

It’s mahogany red with a golden head. The aroma is malty with additional notes of dark fruits and a lot of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, burnt caramel, dark preserved and dried fruits and the finish slightly roasted and dry.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

Test vom 28.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,13,12,13,11,13 - 12,75
