Mary Rose is a beer based on an English recipe, inspired by the legendary ship of the British royal fleet created by Henry VIII. It is remarkable that in this particular ship the quantities of beer consumed were huge. Only beer would do, English soldiers and sailors were not used to anything else. In fact without beer, they would refuse to work! Mary Rose is a refreshing red ale beer with a unique aroma and high quality ingredients.

Bottle: Served in a shaker: Labeled as Premium Red Ale Beer: Medium sized beige foamy head on top of a clear brown amber colored beer. Aroma and flavour are very malty. Aroma also has some hop, slight fruit and caramel. Flavour has as said before many malts, also malty wood tones, caramel, bitters, prunes, hay and a sprinkle of something bay leaf ish... Aftertaste is malty, bitter, toast, prunes and ash. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light creamy texture. Meh...

A lovely beer with a dark but very clear appearance, malty taste and a slightly burnt taste to it. A fine example of an Irish red ale.

Typical red ale, with a little more bitterness than usual. Dry mouthfeel, high on co2.

I tried as Septem Thursday. Bitter red ale beer. Good enough. A little taste of caramel and can combined fairly good with some nuts. Generally a good brewery from Greece.

330ml bottle labeled as Septem Thursday’s Premium Red Ale tasted on 11/06/2014. Amber colour with a medium beige head. Caramel and hops predominates in the aroma. The taste is medium sweet and light citrus. Aftertaste is nice with very light bitternness. Next one please!

So I pour this firey brew into a chalice with no chance of consideration as to its need nor origin; sure, what the hell. It has a huge head, decent semi-foggy brownish-body at this juncture in history. The aroma is solid hops with a hint of malt and hazelnut, not a bad thing really, a strong hint of decent brew-ness. Flavour is no hint of savoury hazelnut but rather just blaséee stuff with no resolution. very weak watery palate. A shame, overall, since it should have been so much better.

330ml brown bottle labeled as Septem Thursday’s Premium Red Ale. Pours red brown, clear. A light swirl of whitish foam on top. Nose has citrus and floral hops and caramel malt. Taste has caramel malts with a bit of roasty and nutty hints. Mild finishing hops, light malty aftertaste. Overall a pleasant red ale.

Truly straightforward and a bit unexciting. The pour is bright amber with a soapy beige head. The nose is bright and malty with toasted caramel and light nutty aromas. A bit sweet in the mid palate with a light roasted malt, toffee, caramel and nut notes. Very mild mannered brew.
