2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I have had this before, but this time I found it at a craft beer testing session. Pours dark amber with off-white head. Sweet aromas, caramel, dried fruits, bitter-sweet finish. Reminds me of a McFarland clone, to be honest.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle in Kos. Pours deep copper becoming chestnut with a generous lacing tan collar. Immediately beguiling nostril of doppelbockesque battered sausage, raisin, milk chocolate, deep honeyed prune. Not bad. Flavour builds on that promise with rounded chocolate-robed juicy dried fruits; lightly peppered wooden notes, fudge, lingering carob and lactic chocolate. Elements of English brown ale, German or Dutch bock, Belgian dubbel dovetailed. Without wishing to sound patronising it’s mature, rounded, deeply drinkable stuff.

Septem Red Ale in a 330 ml bottle with a BB date of 10-2015. Purchased and consumed in the Corinth area of Greece.
Deep red-brown body with a decent of rather short-lived head.
Very earthy, dank hop aroma with some sweet overtones.
Better flavor. Moderately complex. Almost as sweet as bitter initially, but it has a bitter aftertaste.

Keg @El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. 10-11-2014.
In short: weird red ale.
Pours quite clear amber with some off white head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Malty, caramel, fruity aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is malty, caramel, harsh mouthfeel, a bit unpleasant.
