Jun 14, 2004 Wet canvas, sour milk aroma .. ooof. Hazy dark amber with off-white lacing head. Light watery body with light-medium smooth carbonation. The aroma threw me off, but boy if the taste isn’t like a good Dusseldorf altbier. A light dry start, minimal sweetness and no acidity. Has that dry paper, hay taste to it. Very authentic - not up there with Zum Uerige or Zum Schluessel, but a big surprise sitting in western PA! Dry mild acidic finish with light nutty after.
