1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Beerathon (598) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2012
Wow, can’t believe this beer has such a high rating. I had this at a brewfest yesterday and it was one of the worst beers there (and I’m a huge IPA fan). Too earthy with soapy, grassy, and other confusing things going on in the palate. Maybe I’ll give it a chance another time when I’m drinking a bunch of different styles.

Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, supporting malt and fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth and carbonation.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pawola22 (3110) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy, deeper orange, amber tinted body with a finger-width, dense, creamy and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is big on the pineapple and citrusy oranges. Surprisingly big on the fresh citrus hops, actually. Some pines and florals with a light caramel sweetness to balance. Flavor is similar. Lots of citrus pineapples and oranges with a good mixture of pines and florals. A light caramel behind the citruses with a few resins towards the end. Finishes with a medium-light bitterness following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid brewpub IPA. A pleasant surprise with lots of citrus flroals in the aroma and flavor with a decent bitterness. Nice beer.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 JoeMcPhee (7625) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 24, 2010
Deep amber pour and a sticky white head. The nose is lightly hoppy. Sort of sweet and lightly caramelly. Quite a bit too sweet for my tastes. Soft herbal hoppiness with a little bit of light resinousness. A sort of off flavour that I can’t quite put my hands on – maybe some vegetal hop matter. Meh.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 j12601 (5652) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 29, 2010
On tap at Marzoni’s on our way to RBSG. Pours a just clear ruby amber with a medium sized beige head. Juicy hops and plum, lots of dripping caramel. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, sweet plum. Little bit boozy, tons of wet caramel. Finishes with some grapefruit. Too sweet in weird places, but still good.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 michael-pollack (4962) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 25, 2010
Draught at the BrewPub: Aroma of hops, malt, dark caramel, light pine, light pineapple, and Earth. Smells like a barley wine. Poured deep amber/orange in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet, and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, hop oil, tangerine, orange, grapefruit, light pine, slight resin, hop concentrate, and slight malt. Medium body. Slick, then dry texture. Lightly harsh, hop, hop oil, hop concentrate, grapefruit, tropical fruit, and resin finish is lightly dry.
