4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at brewery and from growler. Great grassy and floral aromas, with piney notes, light raw coffee fruitiness, and citrus zest. Mild malty sweetness but predominantly an aromatic melange of hop characteristics from grassy to fruity to spicy. Fresh and a bit earthy. Hazy medium amber body with a thin foamy lacing off-white head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation and a tangy bite. This stuff would be great on cask. Starts mild, with light malty sweetness, pilsner malt and some caramel. Good dose of carbonic gaseousness and some medium acidity. The hops really come through and are accentuated by the carbonic acidity. More subtle notes are muted even further in favor of resin and grapefruity notes, a hit of spiciness. Lots of hop flavor but very litle in the way of bittering. The finish leaves some ozone and acidity on the tongue, but that chalky, teeth-shattering bitterness that normally accompanies highly hopped ales is just not there. Mild bitter sweet after.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Courtesy of Nate from his growler. Pours a slightly hazy butterscotch color. Small fizzy white head that disappeared quickly. A fruity floral and citrus aroma. Some dried apricot and peach. Surprisingly malty flavor. Has a sort light brown sugar and earthy pilsner flavor. The finish is a bit weak. A very mild bitterness that was a lot less than expected. A lot of different things going on, but it seems almost as though nothing really stands out... in a sort of way that I am missing the main idea. Pretty good though.

Growler, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a hazy, golden-yellow color with an orange tinge; thin off-white head with patchy fine-bubbled lacing. Very sticky, wet citrus and floral hops in the aroma; some honey. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: slightly relaxed carbonation; chewy, zesty citrus hops at the front of things; a lively acidity that helps the lightened carbonation from the growler; pleasant yeastiness and some honey at the core; pretty tasty, lively american pale ale. Medium finish, showing wet malts, honey, and breadiness; a touch of lingering citrus.

Draft at Allison Park. I was able to try this one fresh before it was put online. This have a very nice citrusy melon aroma. Pours a cloudy golden amber with a white head. Medium bodied with a nice refreshing texture, and somewhat soft carbonation. The malt profile is of light toffee, wet grains, and honey with a flavorful but non-aggressive citrusy bitterness. Slight acidity on the finish. This is an interesting take on the style and is very enjoyable. If there is such thing as a lawnmower APA, this would be it. Best beer of the night.

Had this one at the ratebeer Pittsburgh gathering. Poured a dark yellow with a decent white head. Aroma was very crisp, lemony citrusy hoppy..yeah all of those are related. Still good. Taste is subdued, but this is to be expected from this style. Very clean and refreshing. Mouth is medium in both body and carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 30, 2013 Draft at the brewery. Hazy light yellow colored body under a tall, fluffy white head. Instant dank hop nose of pineapple, fresh cut pine, lemon zest, and a touch of clover honey. Fainter taste than smell, itís smooth, and while itís not oily I would say itís "liquid-like" and smooth as it rolls back on the tongue. Nearly no harshness to the malt - very simple and very nice, and overall it tastes a bit like wort, with some crushed grains and greeness, but most of that is pretty mellow. Taste is fruity and lightly bitter, and the play of the hops on the tongue is different than anything Iíve had, and very different from the nose. Wet but not moldy, thin but not watery, thereís hops all over this thing but the bitterness is surprisingly low. Itís an interesting experiment.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was surprisingly hoppy for what this beer is, nice notes of fruity citrus hops. Flavor was a little let down compared to the aroma. Flavor was mlid fruitiness, a nice blance of malt, but not too sweet and then a surprisingly lingering small bitterness.

Tap, sample glass (4/08). Cloudy golden color. Hoppy bite in the aroma, spicey, with honeydew and some grapefruit. Citrus, and honey on the tongue, light light sweet aftertaste of buttery satisfaction (toffee?). Overall decent.

On tap at John bonnet Tavern, clear golden color, not much head or lacing, lots of grape notes and very light and refreshing, like a hopped Pilsner
