Had on draft @ Marzoni’s brewpub, in Duncansville, PA, USA .. first stop of the day - medium bitters .. sweet tar .. burnt molasses .. light stickiness .. . nice as it warmed up

Draft. Pours deep, dark brown with thin beige head; good retention and some lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, smoke, coffee, earty hops, and dark chocolate. Flavor is heavy roasted, coffee, and chocolate malts, light dark fruit esters, and light earthy hops; earthy/woody notes throughout with a dry finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.

Tap. Pours black with a medium, creamy tan head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate and coffee malt, plums, raisins, and licorice with smoke and peat notes, and earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and medium bitterness, dark fruity esters and a sweet finish. Light body, low warmth and medium carbonation.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a very deep brown colored body with a thin, creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is sweeter roasts with some dark chocolate, a touch of licorice, and a good amount of coffee. Some oatmeal and a bit of a lactose sweetness with a few dark fruits as well. Flavor is similar. Lots of coffee and roasts up front with a bit of a lactose sweetness and some chocolate and oatmeal with a few dark fruits. Finishes dry with some roasts and a light bitterness as well as some lactose and chocolate sweetness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid stout. Flavorful and well balanced. Not bad at all.

Pours black from tap with a small brown head. Nice chocolate and coffee notes on the nose. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Nice roasted notes on the tongue. Finishes clean.

Deep black pour. Creamy tight tan head. The nose is intensely chocolatey with a lovely light earthy cocoa flavour. A touch of light savoury character. Herbal and a bit chewy Slightly bready with a great balance of roast and sweetness. Lingering bitter roastiness. An excellent stout.

tap @ Marzoni’s - arouma is roasty, chocolate, espresso. Body is a bit disappointingly thin. Dark and malty with some coffee bitter. Smooth and tasty.

On tap at Marzoni’s on our way to RBSG. Pours a deep black with lots of roast and coffee, with a touch of oatmeal sweetness. Medium bodied, creamy with a tight bitterness. Nice long roast bitter finish.

Perfectly cocoa aroma, nice barley, chalk, peanut. Love it. Nice carbonic flavor, marshmallow, a smidgen of sweet lactose. Charcoal. Very dry. Excellent traditional stout.

On tap at brewery. Dark brown with a tan head. Faintly green nose mainly of fudge, also light coffee and alcohol. The flavor has less chocolate, more roasted malt, and exhibits an odd green plant note, almost pine-like. The body is way too silky and thin for the large flavors, so this could use some boosting. Still, I liked it.
