Tap at Mash. A nice chestnut brown pour with a small off white head. Sweet chocolate on the nose with notes of roasted malts and a slight sweetness. Smooth mouth feel. Roasted malts and slight chocolate with hints of vanilla. Not bad considering I’m not a fan of scotch ales

Tried this on tap awhile ago at the brewery but recently at the Sail & Anchor. The Killer Ale was/is going to be a series of specialty beers from Mash starting with this Scotch Ale I believe. Taste is smooth and malty, sweet with hints of roasted characters. Don’t always like the style but this was very enjoyable.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2012 Tap. Great beer. Aromas of chocolate, liquorice caramel, and alcohol. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and good length. Palate is velvety, with a medium body. Dark brown, with a frothy white head.
