On tap at Draft, Raleigh (formerly known as Hi-5). Unlike their IPA and some of their darker beers, this one had absolutey no distinctiveness to it. By the numbers appearance and slightly dry aroma. Body was thinnish and the taste was an excess of wheat with some late addition hops and a mildly peppery finish. But while that may sound like it’s sniffing distinctiveness, it was really just estery as fuck and mostly watery.

Pint at Tribeca Tavern. Ok aroma. Sweet, banana, clove. Hazy orange gold color, ok head, little to no lace. Sweet, spice, flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, dry spiced finish. Better than I was expecting, easy to drink, nice bite of clove.

Served from the tap with a cloudy lemon yellow color, but no head because of an overly-generous pour. The aroma is predominantly a dry, fruity sweetness. The flavor is not too bold but is likewise surprisingly pleasant, with dominant flavors of bananas, with additional notes of clove, yeast, and a hint of lemon. The mouthfeel is silky, smooth, and quite enjoyable. Overall, although not powerfully flavorful, this selection is tasty and drinkable.

Very nice traditional wheat look. It is a very hazy yellow. It has a good almost citrus smell. A little bitter for a wheat.

Nothing special about this one. Fairly disappointed.

I just don’t get hefes. It’s that simple. My deviation from average goes 1 point in either direction.
That said, the direction this hefe went was slightly down. Nothing special about it at all. Other than maybe less aroma, slightly flatter on the tongue and not as much flavor as normal. All not positive. I didn’t say negative, just not good or unique at all.
