3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 shrubber85 (5066) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAY 28, 2006
Tap. Bubblegum, orange and apple aroma. Cloudy orange-amber with large head. Sweet peach-orange and wheat flavor - light body. Pretty good - on the sweet side and kind of weak. Would be great with more flavor.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - APR 30, 2006
Draught sample at the brewpub. Solid, still golden with a bit of lasting head, slight yeast apparency in the body....typical banana-clove nose, on the sweet and thick side with faint traces of sour wheat and some nice earthiness in the nose....very smooth, rather sweet but nicely balanced with an unsweetened applesauce character towards the finish, soft carbonation.....quite full, faintly grapy and lactic....a bit boring and simple by the end of the sample, but really pretty drinkable and pleasant for an American version of the style.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GeneralGao (3545) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JAN 29, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Served without a lemon. Hazy yellow color with thin white head. The aroma is donimated by bananas, as if someone unpeeled a banana and mashed it into the glass. This, combined with the barley and wheat, make for a pleasant banana bread flavor with citrus and clove undertones. Good beer.
1.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 wrecktem (37) - USA - APR 24, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 25, 2005 Boy, was I shocked when I tasted this beer. My boy and I were sitting in a pub in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and decided to sample a local NC micro on draught. This was one of the most acidic beers I’d ever put to my lips, and once I swallowed, the thick aftertaste was so heavily bitter that I literally had to breathe deeply in order to choke it down, in the manner in which many people drink hard liquor as they are reaching their limit. Somehow I managed the rest of the pint, and have not touched a drop of this brew since.

Draught. Cloudy orange. Slight yeast and orange in aroma. Flavor is similar with a little clover, but not as yeasty as would imagine. Soft finish.

Great spicy aroma. Mashed banana, hazy yellow-brown. Good esters, fruity, good hopping, nice fizz. Quick tart finish. Very well done.
