COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
German-style hefeweizen with dominant flavor of clove and hints of allspice and banana. Then it is filtered crystal clear for a very refreshing beer.

Not bad. Thin white head, cloudy yellow color. Cloves int eh aroma. Flavor is not bad but rather weak. Nice attempt. Just not a huge fan of teh style.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again - I simply do not understand why this style exists. Some wheaty flavors, sure, but most of the good stuff has been filtered out - by design, apparently.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2010 the ultimate ratewhore experience. i was desperate. having found no luck the night before, i pulled myself out of bed at the mere thought. somebody had the hookup. somebody had it and i was going to get it. i scraped up what money i had and begged and pleaded with everyone i knew. late arrival had me worried. i started with some cascadian porters. the oregonians stood out to me. they are what colorado tries to look like, but they do it well because it’s natural and authentic. i found an eisbock, dear god, the chances. but what i really want is yucky filtered wheat beer made by some hole in the wall in utah or south dakota or florida or some other piece of hell. i remarked about wanting to go look for one when somebody said "here’s one", right in front of me. game time. even filtered it still had a faint haze, but the slight opaqueness with the dampened color left it looking rather lifeless and peaked. the nose was mineralic but with soft dough notes, mild pepper phenols, and light dishsoap. raw and watery flavor throughout, light dough-like chewiness and weak body. weak hop bitterness, dead finish. lifeless. but i had my fix.
