Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #137. Draft at the brewpub, as "NC Pale." Pours a clear copper color with a thin creamy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of citrus hops and pale malt. The taste is bitter, brash, astringent hops, mild pale malt. Thin-medium bodied, lingering bitterness, totally off balance.

Draft at brewery. Medium golden color. Malt and hops combine nicely. One of my favorites from the sampler.

Draught. Amber colored, see through, very creamy white head with great retention. Looks delicious. Malt and mild hops in aroma. Flavor is not so good. Spoilage??? Nice hop blend of soap and grass help to mask what’s wrong with malt flavor, but can’t fully do the job. Brewers of this beer: Make it again and I will rerate. It is entirely possible that the frat idiots at Flying Saucer in Raleigh have bad lines and/or equipment, and most of your other beers are better.

GABF '03. So, North Carolina throws it's hat into the ring. Should have kept it on it's head. Boring Pale Ale with little hope bite. Light amber color with barely a palate at all. Tiny head.
