COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our stout is a robust, full-bodied English style ale. A generous amount of chocolate and black malts and roasted barley are used to give our stout a rich chocolate and roasted flavor. We use nitrogen on tap to create a thick, creamy head and smooth finish

on Nitro-pours a light brown head that laces and black color with effervescence. Aroma is dark malt-coffee. Taste is dark malt-coffee/chocolate, hint of bitterness, slight acidic, smooth. Mild carbonation.

DRAUGHT: The head starts out looking nice, but dimishes quite rapidly. Flavor is weak, and watery. Terrible finish. Overall, it is drinkable, but I would like a bit more hops in the finish, and a more balanced flavor.

Serving: Draft at the Twisted Fork in Raleigh. It pours pretty much pitch black with a creamy, tan head. Nice lacing left behind. The nose is very muted with slight roasted malt notes coming through. The taste is a bit weak and watery with over roasted malt, husk, and an odd dry finish. Not as much flavor as it should have. A light to medium body leading to a dry, roasty finish. It seems to be served on nitro which reallys seems to have blunted all aspects of this brew. Not good in a case where there probably wasn’t much to begin with. Skip this one.

Draft pint at the brewpub; dark, dark brown with a big quality head that disapated slowly. this is a bit sweet, and unfortunately a bit watery. There’s nothing to it and it was a major letdown after the two outstanding porters. (#2809, 4/21/2007)
